Sailing has been a passion of mine from an early age. The sea has been in my family’s blood going back generations.
Remembering the fun I have had over the years as a child sailing with my cousins and being close to the sea makes me feel special.
The experiences sailing has given my family and I have been amazing. From being born my children have been strapped into a baby seat in the cockpit as we sailed along.
I have sailed all over the world with some fantastic people and learned a lot from all of them. Making friends makes life easy and its great to pass on what you’ve learnt through experience.
For 20 years I have taught people of all ages and back grounds to scuba dive, nothing pleases me more than seeing enjoyment from listening to the excitement after a great dive when they have experienced the excitement of the underwater world.
Witnessing this enjoyment, I decided I would like to pass on my sailing knowledge and experience to others. I am a Yachtmaster Instructor and also I teach the Royal Yachting Association shore based courses RYA Essential Navigation , RYA Day Skipper, RYA Coastal & Yacht master, RYA Marine radio SRC VHF, RYA First Aid and RYA diesel engine. I mentor all RYA interactive courses VHF, Safe & Fun and PPR.

David Jackson has spent his entire working career within Automotive Engineering but his passion lies with the sea. He has been an active scuba diver for more than 25 years and holds the qualification of National Instructor (CMAS 4-star instructor) issued by the British Sub Aqua Club. Above the water David has experience of Rigid Inflatable’s (RIBs), dinghies, keel boats and cruising yachts. He currently owns a 41 foot sailing vessel lying in North Wales. David qualified with MCA/RYA YachtMaster ® Offshore in 2007 and as an RYA Shore Based Instructor in 2008. In 2010 he was awarded MCA/RYA YachtMaster® Ocean.
