Professional Practices and Responsibilities

A compulsory online course for RYA Commercial Endorsement holders.

The marine sector is highly regulated and governed by complex legislation – much of it derived from international treaty as well as government agencies. Any professional seafarer is involved in taking a vessel to sea, and anyone who is in a vessel management role needs to demonstrate their knowledge in this area.

As a professional seafarer you have a legal responsibility to your crew, your passengers, and other water users. You are potentially accountable under law should things go wrong. This course helps you to navigate through the key areas of the regulations as they apply to you, taking you to vital information sources and brings the legislation to life. It is an interactive course, with an assessment at the end.
